Year 3: Introduction to Hour of Code  Course 2

1. Hour of Code ‘Course 2 Students this week in ICT you will be putting your ‘coding skills’ to good use by exploring some online coding activities.

Go to  ‘Course 2 to check out more!!

Using ‘Scratch Online’

Students will continue to explore the program ‘Scratch’. Students are to go to this website:   http://scratch.mit.edu
Click on ‘Create’

Then look on the right hand side and continue working through the tutorials https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/editor/?tip_bar=home

 

2. Year 5 : Digital Photos – iPhoto & iMovie + ‘Hour of Code’ Course 2

A: Students are editing the photos that were taken in ICT last week. These photos should be in a folder.
Ensure that there are no people, vehicles or identifiable objects in the photos.
Open iMovie and create a new project or trailer (which ever you prefer)
Import the photos from your folder into iMovie and create a movie highlighting the different places around our school.

B: In preparation for ‘Hour of Code’ in December, Year 5 students will increase their skill level in learning how to ‘code’. Students will attempt to work through ‘Course 2‘ online activities

 

3 Year 6: What I Could Be Famous For in 20 Years Time? + Hour of Code ‘Course 3

Year 6 Students are to continue working on their ‘Fantales’ paragraph in ‘notepad’. Please ensure that you have at least 100 words in your paragraph.
Next you are to select an ‘app’ that you would like to ‘create’ your paragraph and ‘fantales’ design in.
Ensure that your paragraph is copied into ‘Google Drive – Other -ICT’

B: In preparation for ‘Hour of Code’ in December, Year 6 students will increase their skill level in learning how to ‘code’. Students will attempt to work through ‘Course 3‘ online activities

4. Year 2: Avatars Then ‘Scratch’ Online & Hour of Code  ‘Course 1’

Students, please continue to explore ‘Avatars’ page on ‘Mrs Grasso’s Blog.
You are to create at least 4 different avatars and then share them with a partner or group showing your design skills.

 

Year 2 students will continue to learn about ‘partner programming’ as part of ‘Hour of Code’

Students will work through ‘Course 1’ with a partner to gain awareness in programming.

 

Year 2 will also explore ‘Scratch Online’
